Guidelines for Creating a Lovely Landscape Design

Here are some guidelines for designing a landscape that is both beautiful and functional:

Make a Statement.  According to the adage, you only get one chance to create a good first impression.  Your business's entrance is the first thing people see when they pass by or enter, so make it memorable.  You may have two entrances: one from the street to your property and another to your building.  A sign surrounded by vibrant, colorful blooms will attract the attention of passersby, while complementary colors and landscaping maple ridge bc features in front of your building's entrance will direct the eye to the door.  The entrance to your front door should be inviting and distinctive.  You want them to know that they have arrived at the correct location.

Think about focal elements.  Within a design, focal points direct the eye to where it should travel.  A focal point can elicit emotionsurprise, fascination, and interest.  It could be a professionally-installed statue or fountain, or it could be a natural element such as a towering, mature tree.  It should blend in with your landscaping maple ridge bc, but not stand out.

Select the appropriate plants.  There are numerous factors to consider when selecting the appropriate flora for your property.  For them to thrive, they must be adapted to your climate, your soil, and the quantity of sun or shade they will receive.  This is why native flora are so effective in landscaping.  The maturity of plants must be considered; you wouldn't want to plant a tree where it will become obstructive as it matures.

Consider contrast.  Instead of planting a large number of yellow flowers, why not attempt red and purple instead?  By selecting contrasting hues, your landscaping maple ridge bc will be visually more fascinating and captivating.

Add propulsion.  Movement could refer to a piece of garden art that moves in the breeze, but it need not be as elaborate as that.  The ornamental grasses and trees, such as willows, will capture the wind and wave.  You can encourage movement by planting berry-bearing bushes or blossoms that are attractive to butterflies.

What you don't want to be seen, conceal.  Large, cumbersome air conditioning systems, electrical receptacles, and other utility equipment can be unsightly on commercial properties.  Use vegetation and trees as screens to conceal or distract from them.

Consider the rhythm.  Plants, features, and pathways should be arranged to direct traffic flow.  You need a direct path from the structure to the parking lot, for example, to prevent people from trampling your grass or slipping and falling.  Make them follow your instructions.

Prepare for every season.  Spring and summer, when everything is in bloom, are the best times to establish a landscape, but you still have a landscape in the autumn and winter.  Include fall plants with beautiful autumn colors and select hardier plants for winter, when the ground is not covered with snow.

When designing your landscape, consider What do you want your landscape to communicate about your business?  Should it be chic and contemporary?  Competent and conventional?  Calm and soothing?  Regardless of your message, your design should not overpower your building and your business.  Stand out, but do not protrude.
