COVID-19 entry requirements are to be lifted on March 26
On March 26, the COVID-19 entry requirements will be eliminated for domestic travelers to Hawaii. This will allow travelers to enter the Hawaiian Islands without a five-day quarantine or proof of vaccination. International travelers must still provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination and negative test result. The changes are part of the U.S. Department of State’s Safe Travels program. The changes will help Hawaii maintain its workforce capabilities during the disruption caused by COVID-19.
Before entering the United States, non-citizens from 33 countries must show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination. COVID-19 was previously banned for travelers from these countries, but it is no longer a travel ban for those from those countries. Five-day self-quarantine
This is the first Travelling Restriction in Hawaii. Before you visit Hawaii, be aware that you must comply with a five-day self-quarantine. However, there are exceptions for people who are fully vaccinated and have a negative COVID-19 test. In order to be exempt from the five-day quarantine, you must upload your vaccination documentation to Safe Travels’ website before you depart and have a copy of it ready upon arrival. Digital vaccination cards are now accepted for self-quarantine in Hawaii.
After March 26, domestic visitors will no longer be required to undergo a five-day quarantine. Instead, they will have to provide proof of their vaccination or a negative coronavirus test. Hawaii is still a mandatory quarantine destination, and international travelers must obtain a COVID-19 test result before they enter the island.
