Comments, bookmarks, and notifications

Engage with writeups and keep track of the ones you care about.

Comments

Every published writeup has a comment section at the bottom. Comments are threaded up to 3 levels deep. You can:

  • Reply to anyone (including the original author)
  • Edit or delete your own comments within 24 hours
  • Report comments that break the rules
  • Receive notifications when someone replies to you

Authors can moderate their own comment sections — hiding or deleting comments on their writeups.

Bookmarks

See something you want to read later? Click the bookmark icon on any writeup, blog, or guest post card. Your saved items live at /bookmarks — accessible from any device while you’re logged in.

Tip: Bookmarks are private. No one sees what you’ve saved.

Notifications

The bell icon in the nav shows your notifications. You get notified when:

  • Someone likes, comments on, or reposts your writeup
  • Someone follows you
  • Someone mentions you in a comment
  • A guest post is submitted to one of your blogs
  • Your writeup is featured or flagged

You can tune which notifications you receive (and which ones email you) under Settings → Notifications.
