The printing process begins in order to reduce water consumption by pre-washing the cloths. The cloth is then dyed, laid flat on a desk, and fixed securely to the table with hooks. Four to five basic all-natural colors are utilized that are blended together to produce a multitude of colors. The block is then dipped in the dye and also stamped on the cloth by hand. The cloth is rinsed in the river and hung to dry in the sun, reducing energy intake. It was a short history of block printing in India.
