The festive season is about to get easier and cheaper! Indian Railways has launched an experimental Round Trip Ticket Package with 20% off on the base fare of the return journey. This scheme is perfect for upcoming festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja, when train travel is at its peak.
How Round Trip Ticket Package Works
You can book both onward and return tickets together on the IRCTC portal under the “connecting journey” option. The Round Trip Ticket Package is applicable when both journeys have the same passenger details, travel class and origin-destination. Booking for this scheme starts from 14 August 2025 for travel between 13–26 October (onward) and 17 November–1 December (return). The discount is available across all classes, including special trains, except flexi-fare services.
