The Keeway SR250 is a scrambler bike which directly rivals the TVS Ronin and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. As for the Honda CB200X, the shape and size are different from the SR250. If you look at the picture of the CB200X, it will look like an ADV, whereas its counterpart is more of a scrambler. Speaking of ADV bikes, Keeway has an ADV iteration as well, which is called the Keeway 300 N. You can check out the curated list of Keeway bikes that cater to different types of patrons.

Yes, they are different in shape and size but are similar in pricing and engine output. That said, both bikes have more or less the same utility.

Since it’s a clear-cut choice, you can either pick the Keeway SR250 or the CB200X if you are a scrambler fan or an ADV fan. Both have different purposes. However, let’s see how the Keeway SR250 stacks up against the Honda CB200X. Let’s begin, then.

Different Engines

Before getting onto the figures, the Hungarian automotive marquee built the Keeway SR250 on the single cradle tubular frame, which carries a 223cc petrol unit.

In parallel, the Japanese bike manufacturer structured the CB200X on their in-housed-designed diamond frame, which supports a 184.4cc petrol mill. Speaking of this petrol unit, there are several Honda bikes, especially the Hornet 2.0 that have similar technical specifications as the CB200X.

Now, let’s jump to the figures. For starters, let’s talk about the SR250. You must be thinking that this bike has a 250cc engine and outrun the CB200X. Well, unfortunately, it’s the other way around. The Keeway SR250 has a 223cc single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol unit, which is tuned to produce 15.78 bhp at 7500 rpm and 16 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm.

As for the Honda CB200X, the 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol mill is tuned to churn out 17 bhp at 8500 rpm and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. You see there? The Honda CB200X is interestingly a clear winner here. If you are a performance-oriented buyer, you should check out the CB200X price on the autoX website.

Moving on, both bikes make their rear wheels spin via a standard five-speed manual gearbox.

With the mentioned engine and transmission combination, the Keeway SR250 has an ARAI-certified mileage of 40 km/l but has unknown real-world fuel efficiency. On the other hand, there is no ARAI-claimed mileage of the Honda CB200X but has a real-world mileage of 43 km/l. Please note that this real-world mileage is as per the reports from the CB200 owners. In addition, the actual fuel efficiency can vary with local traffic conditions and individuals’ riding styles.

There is, however, no doubt that BS6 bikes have become more fuel efficient than BS4 engines. One of the reasons includes the presence of fuel injection technology. The Indian central government ordered all the two-wheeler manufacturers to use that state-of-the-art technology while producing BS6 engines. It is a controlled and clean fuel supply system, which makes the engine more efficient with reduced emissions. Further, it doesn’t make the bike lag either, especially on the hills. Yes, you can easily take a BS6 bike uphill. It won’t make you lament. Last but not least, fuel injection technology won’t let you complain about the cold starts either.

Apart from that, let’s move on to other specifications. The Keeway SR250 has a conventional suspension setup. It includes a telescopic suspension setup with no added benefit. You may know this, but the telescopic suspension setup has proven to be effective on bad surfaces, as well. Since it’s cost-effective, many budget bikes used to have that setup. In fact, they still do. But considering the SR250 price, it could have had a better setup.

But on the flip side, the Honda CB200X has an upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. This ADV from Honda shouldn’t let you complain about rideability, as it can absorb the bumps from potholes easily. That means, it’s well-suited for Indian roads.

Honda CB200X

All-in-all, you can easily make long journeys on both bikes without worrying about comfort.

Asides from that, both bikes offer dual-disc brakes as standard. But the Keeway SR250 has extra safety, as it boasts a dual-channel ABS, unlike the CB200X. The CB200X has a single-channel ABS. A bike with both dual-channel ABS and dual disc brakes work impressively, as that combination can reduce the chances of mishaps, such as skidding or making a stoppie, especially at emergency braking. Further, the dual-channel ABS bike provides better stability around the corners, even on wet surfaces.

So, these are a few technical specifications of these two bikes. You can get the specifications sheet of these bikes or any other vehicle on the autoX website.

Prices and Variants

Both the two-wheelers have one variant only. The Honda CB200X price is Rs 1,48,844 for the standard DX variant, while the Keeway SR250 carries a price tag of Rs 1,49,000 for the Standard (STD) variant.
