Maruti Suzuki Victoris is introduced as the latest contender in the hotly contested midsize-SUV segment, positioning itself as a premium variant compared to popular alternatives. The styling is bold and urban, whereas the technology and engine options include petrol, strong-hybrid, and CNG to cater to diverse buyer preferences. The car offers a well-equipped interior with standout features, such as an extensive touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, ventilated seats, and advanced safety provided by Level-2 ADAS. The Maruti Suzuki Victors overview below will discuss how the car performs when it comes to design, features, performance, pricing, and whether it has what it takes to top its segment.

Engine & Powertrain Options

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris offers three main groups of powertrains to meet different requirements: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol with a mild-hybrid setup, a strong-hybrid 1.5-litre petrol, and a petrol-CNG option available directly from the factory. The mild-hybrid petrol makes for a good blend of performance and efficiency for everyday driving, producing around 102 bhp and 139 Nm of torque. The strong-hybrid variant, on the other hand, boosts performance to an estimated 114 bhp (combined) with roughly 141 Nm, doing so with greater fuel economy, especially in stop-start and urban conditions. The CNG version obviously has lower power, at around 87 bhp, but is better suited for lower running costs and is, therefore, quite worthwhile.

In terms of transmissions, buyers get a choice between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic (AT) for the petrol-mild-hybrid versions. The strong-hybrid uses an e-CVT, which provides for smooth power delivery nearly continuously. An AWD option is also available in the top-end trims.

Exterior Design & Styling

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has an appealing modern approach to really making a statement in the crowded segment of mid-sizers. The fascia has got to boast projectors for LED headlamps dipped in a black housing, both flanged to a wide LED light bar; further sharpness comes from segmented DRLs as statements to its face. The sensual touch of the front bumper is sculpted by a stealthy air dam and faux silver skid plate below.

Sideways, squared-off wheel arches and thick black cladding provide telltale signs of a sturdy SUV character. The 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels give one the feel of a super sleek predator, with silver roof rails and a shark-fin antenna to complete the profile. The rear adopts the go-with-the-situation connected LED tail-lights streaking across the width, integrated indicators, and gorgeous Victoris badge.

Seven monotones and three bi-tones are found in this palette. There are all-new shades like Mystic Green and Eternal Blue, and the bluish-black roof appears on some variants in contrast to the rest of the body. Trim packages like "Raffiné" will provide additional visual drama using dark chrome garnishes along with styling like skid plates and illuminated sill guards.

Interior & Features

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris makes an excellent leap regarding comfort, technology, and safety, thereby becoming more than just a stylish midsize SUV. The interior has a dual-tone black and ivory treatment, with soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors, as well as textured upholstery and piano-black inserts for a premium feel. The huge technology inside it consists of an all-digital driver display with 10.25" and a similarly large infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supported by Alexa voice control and over-the-air updates. Add to this an 8-speaker Infinity by Harman Dolby Atmos sound system for an immersive audio experience, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 64 colour options, a powered tailgate (with gesture control on higher variants), wireless charging, and Type-C ports; the Victoris aims to make the cabin feel modern and plush.

On the safety side of things, the comprehensive suite includes a paraglider with both adult and India-the child occupant protection categories, earning a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. Other forms of standard equipment include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. In addition, the SUV now debuts its Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and high beam assist, among others.

Dimensions, Fuel Economy & Tank

Victor is 4,360 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,655 mm tall with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 210 mm to help tackle rough roads or speed bumps easily. The kerb weight records 1,195 kg for the base petrol variant.

All petrol models have a fuel tank capacity of 45 liters. The mild-hybrid petrol can deliver ARAI-rated mileage of about 21.18 kmpl (manual) and 21.06 kmpl, while the AWD variant drops to around 19.07 kmpl. Owners and reports so far suggest that the strong-hybrid version can do about 28.65 kmpl under favourable conditions, while the CNG version brings approximately 27.02 km/kg. It is believed that the actual performance in real environments falls under the claims when conditions are heavy traffic or hilly, while the Victoris, for a midsize SUV with power/features/comfort, is quite good in this regard.

Ride & Handling

Maruti Suzuki Victoris is tuned for comfort and stability rather than sporty driving. Its suspension setup is softer in calibration to absorb the bumps from the MacPherson struts in the front and a torsion beam in the rear, without the passengers feeling every crack or pothole. A wheelbase of 2,600 mm provides additional longitudinal stability, which, though helpful in highway driving and overtaking, reduces the feeling of nervousness that is sometimes felt in large SUVs.

On wide and smooth tarmac, the ride feels composed and confident. Steering feels light, even in tight parking and city manoeuvring; however, the feel on the steering is quite precise when the driver wants to make haste. Body roll does get more exaggerated in twisties or sharper corners, since Victoris would much more prefer the safer speeds as opposed to all-out cornering; in general, road manners favor ease and assurance over raw nimbleness.

Safety & Reliability

Now, isn't it right to say that the Maruti Suzuki Victoris boasts of good safety? It has bagged a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP, which can be said to be one of the safest midsize SUVs in India as of now. Out of a total of 32 points, for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), the ratings were 31.66 in Bharat NCAP tests, while for Child Occupant Protection (COP), it was 43 out of 49. The Global NCAP rated it almost similarly for adult protection, while having decent scores for child safety. It has been awarded a stable body shell structure as well.

Standard safeties across variants are thoughtfully high. Six airbags are standard; the Victoris comes with electronic stability control (ESC), tensioner and load-limiting seat belt reminders, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill-hold assist, and rear parking sensors in all variants, while the higher variants have a 360-degree camera. Further, Level-2 ADAS is offered in the higher variants, including automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist, among other features.

In terms of reliability, the Maruti Suzuki service network strengthens the Victoris' position strongly in India. Not much fuss is made about spare parts availability, and Marutis generally keeps its maintenance costs lower compared to many competitors. Thanks to brand loyalty and the safety certifications for the Victoris, resale value is likely to be favorable.

Variants & Pricing

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris offers six variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi (O), ZXi+, and ZXi+ (O). This model provides buyers with numerous options, from a bare-bones entry model without too much to offer, right through to a fully loaded top trim with technology and luxury touches.

The Victoris starts at around ₹10.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base LXi with a manual transmission. Prices are steep with the fitment of an automatic transmission, a strong-hybrid powertrain, and an optional AWD system, right up to around ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the ZXi+ (O) with the strong-hybrid e-CVT.

The higher variants ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O) offer cosmetic enhancements as well, including the dual-tone treatment, premium alloy wheels, and darker chrome accents, all of which also include advanced infotainment and driver-assistance systems. This means that buyers can select a Victoris family car that best aligns with their budget and feature preferences.

Verdict

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris creates a lasting impression in the midsize SUV segment with its premium exterior, feature-loaded interior, and array of powertrain choices, including a strong-hybrid option. The spacious cabin with an advanced infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and Level-2 ADAS suite makes it one of the most contemporary offerings in this segment. Another highlight is safety, with the Victoris achieving 5-star ratings under Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP, allowing peace of mind alongside Maruti's own reliability and service support.

But there are areas for improvement: while the ride quality is comfortable, it is quite soft in corners and feels noticeably nasty with high body roll during fast manoeuvres. Some enthusiasts might find it a tad low on outright performance when it comes to the naturally aspirated petrol variant.

The Victoris is perfect for families and professionals needing a safe, comfortable, and tech-laden midsize SUV balancing efficiency with modern technology.
