Langtang Valley lies south of the Tibetan border, sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) lies to the north; Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and Naya Kanga ri (5846m) lie to the south, and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) lies to the east of the valley.
Langtang valley trek begins with a breezy scenic drive along the Trisuli River north of Kathmandu, through Trisuli Bazaar. We then reach Syabrubeshi, a Tibetan village and farmlands inhabited by people of Tibetan origin. Many villagers are from Tibet.
Once, this route was an important trading highway with Tibet; therefore, most of the villagers and people here are still involved in the trade, which is more bartering.
We trek through Langtang National Park, located at the park's very edge. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the world's most fascinating wildlife. Among them are playful monkeys, elusive musk deer, adorable Pika, and the majestic national bird of Nepal, the colorful Danphe that adds a vibrant touch to the Langtang Valley.
Our trekking adventure continues to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740m), a picturesque destination that can only be reached by crossing numerous rivers, traversing a gorge, and passing through oak and rhododendron forests. After a restful night in Gompa, we visit the local yak cheese factory and marvel at the glaciers, marking the gateway to Tibet.
Langtang Valley trek is mainly enjoyed in the remote areas of the Langtang region and the most awesome valley in Langtang. We will have exciting moments because we will get opportunities to see and experience the lifestyles.
The Langtang Valley trek offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture of the region's indigenous communities, such as the Sherpas and Tamang. This trek is renowned for being one of the least commercialized in Nepal, preserving its authenticity and charm.
