When it comes to medicine, antibiotic resistance is one of the most serious threats. Every year, millions of animals are killed because they can't get treated for infections that could have been easily prevented with the use of basic medicines. To fight this problem, pharmaceutical companies have developed numerous animal antimicrobials.
This is an excellent practice, although it can have disastrous consequences. As food-borne diseases are on the rise and are becoming more fatal, more farmhands will need to be employed to take care of the rising demand for animal antimicrobials and antibiotics. In order to control food-borne illnesses caused by bacteria such as E. Coli, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, and other pathogenic bacteria, vets prescribe animal antimicrobials and antibiotics for their use.
