How to start the journey 

First step of the journey 

People can begin their trekking by flying towards the Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. After reaching the Nepalgunj, the traveler must stay there for a night. The next day, you can catch the flight Juphal and driver to Dunai.

Second step of the journey 

From Dunai your real Lower Dolpo trek begin.  Following the Thulibheri for fisrt one and half day up to Lasicap. From Lasicap you switch the Thuli Bheri rivaer to Tarap Khola. Then along the Trap River bank, the trail stretching along ups and down with rocky trails and deep river gorges. Crossing several time river through suspension and wooden bridges finally at Dho Tarap. You will explore the Dho Tarap village where you will visit ancient Bon and Buddhist monasteries and chores of local people life.

The third step of the journey 

This part of trek is quite challenging but very interesting part of the Lower Dolpo trek. Within the four day you will be crossing two high passes Numala and Bagala above 5000+. The views from top of Numala and Bagala are very spectacular. After crossing thses two notorious passes you will descent down to Phoksundo lake and Rigmo village. There will be a day for exploring the hoksundo and Rigmo village.

Final Step

The last part of trek is more beautiful because you descent down along the magnificent views of Phoksundo waterfalls and lush vegetation of Phoksundo national park. In this this you have to cross the Phoksundo River several time through the suspension bridge and wooden bridge up to Sulighat checkpoint. Then head towards Jupal, the last stop, as you return to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Right Time To Visit 

Trekking in Lower Dolpo can be visited at any time of the year except winter and early spring. But the best time to visit Lower Dolpo is spring and autumn.
