It would take you tedious days to paint acoustic popcorn surfaces, fences or house by hand. Worse enough, the paint would appear messy after painting for that long. The airless sprayer on the hand, would take few hours to accomplish the same task, professionally. Even though paint sprayers are considered great tools for painting efficiently and swiftly, they can be frustrating especially if they break down when painting. That is why it is imperative to maintain them to ensure they work effectively without breaking down.

Sometimes, the air motor may not turn on despite several attempts. When you encounter such a problem, you should check the electrical connections, pressure control knobs or ON and OFF switches. For the unit to initiate pumping, the pressure control knobs must be set high. In case you are using extension cord and still it doesn't start, the problem might be the extension cord. Try unplugging the cord and then plugging the unit directly.

The airless paint sprayer usually come with user's manual. The manual contains the correct scale as well as maximum length of cord that the sprayer is supposed to use. A number of models will not start if you are using too long or small cords. In addition, long extension cords can cause the air motor to stop running due to overheating. The sprayer may effectively run but doesn't produce paint or spray. If that is the case, then the problem may be the filters. What you need to do is remove and then clean these filters. The problem may also be caused by thick paint, which the sprayer cannot pump. You can fix this by thinning the paint using water.

By thinning the paint and thoroughly cleaning the filters, the paint should come out via nozzles or spray tips with ease unless the nozzles or tips are clogged. The clogging are usually caused by debris or dirt. You should clean the nozzles as well using hot water and toothbrush to get rid of the clogs. The sprayer may also be producing uneven paints. You should check the amount of paint in reservoir or bucket. The sprayer will suck air if the paint is low. But in case the paint level is okay and the problem persists, the problem might be the tip or nozzles. You can change the tip or nozzle to see if the problem is fixed.

Uneven sprays can be caused by worn out tips or nozzles. Therefore, it is imperative to replace them periodically. If the tips are leaking, then you should remove them using crescent wrenches. Without interfering with the atomizer valves and tip washers, you should replace the tips and then tighten them securely. Dripping may still occur, though, especially if you are using clear coatings, stains including other thinner materials. The filters and tips should be cleaned to remove clogs, dirt or debris. It is important to clean the airless paint sprayer immediately after using it. You should clean the parts with warm water and soap and then left to dry.
