Revealed sex is possibly one of the most exciting parts of your pregnancy. But is there any way to know the answer without ultrasound? How true is sex prediction in all those stories?

If you're hoping for a girl, then you're probably taking a look at all the clues - each other and otherwise.

Here's how to tell those anecdotes, myths or facts, and find out if there's a baby girl on the way.

1. Carrying High: Myth

If you’re carrying high, congratulations it can be a girl in the womb!

But there may be another reason for a high stomach. If this is your first pregnancy and your body is in good shape, your abdominal muscles, and how much you weigh during your pregnancy, then how you are carrying will all play a role.

It has no effect on your baby's gender. This means that you cannot tell the gender by evaluating your carrying high. Multiple pregnancies can also have an effect on the elasticity of a single muscle.

Lesson learned?  Don’t count on this myth in mind to determine gender. This is true whether it is your first pregnancy or your fourth.

2. Carrying around the middle: Myth

Includes a similar story about the discussion of carrying the weight of that child. If your pregnancy weight is in the middle, it is because of having a baby girl. All in front? A jumping baby boy is on the way. But again, how and where you move is related to your body type, weight gain and other physical factors. Including this won’t help to determine the gender of your child.

3. Faster fetal heart rate: Myth

The next time your doctor hears your child's heartbeat, listen to it carefully. According to some, a rapid rate of more than 140 beats per minute means that you are having a baby girl.

A baby child's heart rate is usually faster than a boy child's. But this is true only after labor pain begins. Earlier, it is the age of a fetus that actually affects the heart rate speed.

During a pregnancy of about 5 weeks, the fetal heart rate is roughly the same as the mom’s, about 80 to 85 beats per minute.

4. Craving Sweets: Myth

There is a saying that craving sweet things during your pregnancy is related to the baby girl  growing up. If carrying a boy, dreaming of salty or sour snacks. While there was some suggestion that cravings may be related to deficiencies of specific minerals during pregnancy, there is no association between cravings and gender.

5. Breakouts and oily skin: myth

During pregnancy, your skin is oily and you’re breaking out. Common sense suggests that it is because your baby girl is stealing your beauty.

In fact, you can blame your skin faults on hormones, not your child possibly being a girl.

6. Excessive morning sickness: myth

Conventional wisdom says that excessive morning sickness at any point during your pregnancy means that you are having a girl child.

Truth? Morning sickness is related to hormones and low blood sugar level. Do not start purchasing baby girl clothes yet.

7. Wild mood swings: Myth

If you are of an unexpected mood, it may be signs you’re having a baby girl

But this is probably because you are on a hormonal roller coaster called pregnancy! There is no science behind this myth. Mood swings are common for mothers to be carrying babies of either gender.

8.Change in breast size

A lot of changes happen due to changes in the level of hormones in the woman's body while pregnant.

One of these changes is breast changes! The breast size of every pregnant woman increases in order to breastfeed an incoming baby.

At this time there is a slight difference in the size of both the breasts, but if the right breast is bigger and heavier than the left breast and the nipple is also more dark then it is considered one of the signs of having a boy in the womb.

9. Growth of Body Hair

During pregnancy, due to fluctuating hormone levels, at times, unwanted body hair of the woman starts growing more. During pregnancy, this visible condition is also associated with the symptom of having a baby boy.

It is believed that if a pregnant woman starts showing short hair in the middle of her belly and more hair in her arms and legs, then it can be a sign of being a boy. And opposite from this,  if unwanted body hair of the woman is not growing more is the sign you’re having a baby Girl in the womb.

The truth is that, while you have a 50-50 chance of correctly guessing the sex of your child, who is still guessing. The truth is, any kind of medical intervention is necessary to correctly estimate your child's gender. Probably will have to wait until the big penis is revealed for one of life's best surprises.

You can find out the gender of your baby through an ultrasound at around 20 weeks into your pregnancy. These are 80% accurate, as long as your child cooperates and allows the technician to see clearly between their legs.

Noninvasive prenatal testing is another way of determining sex. But it is usually offered only to women who are at risk of carrying infants with chromosomal conditions.
