OK Financial Group Rides Season's First 5-Game Winning Streak

The men's professional volleyball team OK Financial Group continued its upward trend with its fifth straight win.

OK Financial Group won the men's Dodram 2023-2024 V-League match against KB Insurance 3-0 (15-25 25-21 25-13) in straight sets at Sangryoksu Gymnasium in Ansan on Wednesday.

Riding a season-high five-game winning streak, fourth-ranked OK Financial Group (13-10, 36 points) narrowed the gap to two points over third-ranked Samsung Fire (14-8, 38 points).

Last-place KB Insurance (4-19, 17 points), which snapped a six-game losing streak by beating Korean Air on Sept. 9, failed to extend its winning streak and suffered another defeat.

OK Financial Group took an early lead in the first set.

After racking up points early on, OK Financial Group continued to maintain a comfortable lead. At 15-10, they capitalized on back-to-back errors from their opponent and added another point at 20-13 with a quick open from Shin Shin-jin. At 24-15, Leo's staggered attack made it 25 points.

KB Insurance easily lost the first set with 10 unforced errors.

The second set was more intense.

In a seesaw game, OK Financial Group scored a point at 18-17 with a quick open from Leo.

KB Insurance continued to fight back, but gave away the point at 19-20 with back-to-back errors.

OK Financial Group took advantage of this and continued to score points. At 23-21, Song Hee-chae's quick opener was followed by a service ace to close out the second set.

With the momentum completely in their favor, OK Financial Group closed out the match in the third set.

At 11-9, they scored the next five points, including three consecutive points by Leo, a service ace by Chae Hwan, and a block by Park Chang Sung, to overtake KB Insurance.

Reaching the 20-point mark at 19-11 with Leo's open attack, OK Financial Group sealed the set at 23-12 with Leo's service ace.
