Needle-free technologies are one of the novel vaccine delivery devices because they are widely used in large-scale immunization programs, and help reduce the complications associated with needle stick injuries and multiple use of a single needle. Other vaccine delivery devices include intradermal delivery devices, micro-needles, jet injectors, disposable syringes, etc. Moreover, needle-free technologies are being widely used due to the increasing awareness to avoid pain associated with needle-stick injuries.
Currently, there is an increasing demand for vaccines delivery devices all around the world due to the emergence of COVID-19 or increasing prevalence of COVID-19. The virus has spread to every corner of the world. Thus, there is an increasing demand for vaccination to prevent the spread of the virus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in Germany, as of 4:38pm CEST, 5 May 2021, there have been 3,451,550 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 83,876 deaths. As of 3 May 2021, a total of 30,631,299 vaccine doses have been administered.
