Resistance to HeatIt can withstand temperatures up to 925 °C in continuous use and 870 °C in intermittent use without oxidising. Although 316 can withstand temperatures between 420 and 860 degrees Fahrenheit, it is not recommended for usage in the water constantly due to the material's susceptibility to corrosion. Grade 316 can withstand greater temperatures and is more resistant to carbide precipitation.
