The third-year receiver was enjoying an excellent season in 2013 but has seen his production decline significantly over the past two weeks. New starting quarterback Jason Campbell targeting Cameron just 18 times in the last three games. Cameron, who had 45 catches and 515 yards and scored six touchdowns over the initial seven games of the season, has managed just seven catches and 33 yards the past two games.
Cameron, who had been emerging as a big-play threat for the offensively-challenged Browns this season, says that defenses are rolling coverage his way and are now limiting his effectiveness downfield. The young receiver says that it's up to him to work harder and beat the coverage and isn't worried about the chemistry he has with his starting quarterback.
“I do not believe that it's Jason or anything,” Cameron said. “They're in the way of you crossing the first level, and then somebody hitting you on the second level, so it's just a little more difficult to chemistry with the route. The timing is a little off.”
