The most pleasant time to visit Syntheri Rocks is from October to March, from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

 

The huge, massive limestone rock formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago is situated at a 31 km distance from Dandeli. It has a monolithic granite structure with a height of 300 feet located in the dense forest of the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. The flow of the River Kaneri has resulted in erosion, and the rocks are getting hollowed. Pigeons and honey bees inhibit the corners of the rock cave.

 

The forest department controls entry to the venue and can be reached by jeep or by walking through the dense forest for 15-20 minutes from the vehicle parking to the rock. You need to walk downwards to reach the base through steep steps. You will see various types of rocks in the forest displayed along the steps.

The dam is located in the Joida Taluk of Dandeli and is acknowledged for being the leading hydroelectric power generation plant in the town that supplies water to nearby farms to meet their irrigation needs.
