It was such a hit that McDonald's Travis Scott Burger kept selling out! This levelled up Quarter Pounder is topped with two slices of American cheese, thick and crispy bacon, shredded lettuce, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The McDonald's burger is no longer available, but you can easily make it yourself at home.

Travis Scott Burger

This might just be the perfect burger! I can honestly say it tasted like the best homemade burger I've ever had.

There's a juicy patty that's perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, lots of melted American cheese, and thick and crispy bacon. All that's topped with crunchy shredded lettuce, thinly sliced onions, and pickles. Then it's all stuffed into toasted sesame hamburger buns!

Thanks to Travis Scott for the inspiration for this burger, but I'm pretty sure that the homemade version will be better than the one they used to serve at McDonald's.

We also have a super popular recipe for McDonald's copycat sauce, so be sure to check it out.

Ingredients

Ground Chuck: The ground chuck comes specifically from the front shoulders. This is the perfect ratio of lean meat to fat to make the best burgers (80/20). Beef grain ground can also be used as ground beef. Get ground chuck if you see it! Aim for an 80/20 blend of medium ground beef if you don't. You'll get a really juicy burger if you use 80/20. Although the fat seems excessive, a lot of it will render off.

Bacon: If you want to make this recipe, you should use thick slices of applewood smoked bacon. It tastes incredible on this burger because it's the perfect combination of smoky and sweet.

Cheese: Two slices of American cheese are sandwiched between each hamburger patty. It is really amazing how much better this burger is when both sides of the patty have that delicious melty cheese on them.

Pickles, lettuce, and onions: The shredded lettuce and thinly sliced onions add crunch and crispness to the burger. Pickles provide a nice balance between the rich umami flavors in the burger and the acidity of the pickles.

Condiments: Ketchup and yellow mustard will go well with the burger. It's a classic condiment pairing, and it tastes great here. You'll also need barbecue sauce to dip the fries in if you're serving the whole meal.

Spices: Ground chuck patties can be seasoned only with salt and pepper.

Buns: These burgers are best served with sesame seed buns. These buns taste nutty and sweet, but also have a great texture thanks to the sesame seeds.

Butter: The best way to toast the buns in a skillet is to spread a little bit of butter on the cut side. It really does make a difference to the taste of hamburger buns when they are butter toasted rather than untoasted.

Sides: You'll also need a glass of lemon lime soda, fries, and a dipping container for barbecue sauce if you plan to serve the full meal.

Travis Scott Burger: How To Make It

Spread a thin layer of butter over the cut side of the sesame seed hamburger buns. Butter one side of the buns and place it butter side down on a hot non-stick skillet. Cook until the buns are toasted and golden brown. On each of the bottom buns, immediately after taking them off the skillet, place a slice of American cheese. (For the complete recipe, please see the recipe card below.)

Each piece of beef should be divided into four equal parts, then rolled into a ball. Make hamburger patties by flattening each ball, then season each side with salt and pepper. Make an indent with your thumb in the center of each patty (this will help the middle cook at the same rate as the edges, and will also help them maintain their shape while they are cooking).

The hamburger patties should be cooked on one side, then flipped and cooked on the second side. When the second side of each patty is almost done cooking, top it with slices of American cheese and cooked bacon.

Place the bottom bun halves with cheese and bacon topped patties on them. You can then top the patties with lettuce, onion, and pickles. On the cut side of the top half of the burger buns, spread ketchup and mustard.

The top half of the bun should be placed over the hamburgers. Enjoy! Please see the recipe card below for the full written instructions, including ingredient amounts, cooking times, and helpful tips.
