United States Supreme Court has struck down efforts by individual states to disqualify Donald Trump from running for president using an anti-insurrection constitutional clause.
In a unanimous decision, the Supreme Court ruled today that the states cannot strip Donald Trump off of the ballot.It is indeed a big boost coming Trump’s way as he is seen as frontrunner in the Presidential race of 2024.
The country’s top court ruled that the former President can stay on the Republican primary ballot in Colorado. The state top court had earlier cited 14 th amendment of the US Constitution to strip Trump off the ballot. The 14 th amendment says that anyone who has been involved in an insurrection cannot hold public office.
