One must understand the difference between mirrorless and DSLR camera technology in order to make a proper choice while buying their new camera. These two types serve different purposes.
DSLRs furnished with a mirror mechanism would reflect light from the camera lens into the optical viewfinder, a more conventionally oriented shooting method. These cameras tend to be sizable and heavy but are lauded for their battery life and abundance of lens options.
The mirrorless camera system has abandoned the mirror; it allows light to fall directly on the image sensor and electronic viewfinder or screen. This gives the system high levels of compactness and lightness and often faster autofocus and continuous shooting speeds.
Before now, it was DSLRs that enjoyed much fame; however, mirrorless cameras are holding theirs with their modern technology and compact size. Understanding the difference between mirrorless and DSLR camera technology will enable a photographer to choose a system that fits his style, be it for professional work or casual shooting.
