“Many of our "blocks" come from relational trauma that happened as a child, teen or adult. (Trauma can be BIG EVENTS, or teeny tiny ones called MICRO-AGGRESSIONS).   Trauma is the LEADING CAUSE OF DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY.

You may have experienced one or more of the following abuses, which likely has caused trauma: betrayal, breech of trust, abandonment, triangulation, gaslighting, physical or verbal abuse, neglect, not being heard, not feeling like you matter, mis-attunement from a caregiver (or spouse), blaming, shaming, or isolation. All of that pain tends to get dragged into adulthood. As a result, you may feel emotional numbness, recurrent depression, panic, anxiety, lack of safety in relationship, lack of safety in the world, inability to be oneself, feeling stuck, or paralyzed.

Another surprising symptom of relational trauma or abuse is chronic pain and illness. Up to 80% of adults with chronic illness were traumatized or highly stressed as young people.

These painful roadblocks cause a person to curl inward on him or herself, not knowing how, or who to trust. Not knowing what to do to make it better. Paige Bartholomew’s specialty is treating these relational traumas, and thereby creating relief and release from the misery and desperation you may be feeling.
