Location: Trunyan (on Google Maps)
Cost: Boat rental is 1 million rupiah, but negotiable. We agreed on 650k plus 50k per person for the trip to Kintamani.
Distance: 72 km from Denpasar
Travel time: 2.5 hours by bike
Difficulty: Medium

This place is quite unusual, with real human skulls and remains, creating a sinister energy.
We left Denpasar and drove towards Kintamani on the main road. There\'s a ticket sales point where each ticket costs 50k rupiah, no bargaining, and they provide a receipt.
If you get hungry, stop at Paperhills, an affordable spot with amazing views of the lake and volcano.
Continue driving along the coast of Lake Batur to Trunyan village. Be prepared for locals to ask for money upon entering the village, though it\'s optional to give.
Head to the pier to find someone to take you on a boat.

The boat costs 1 million rupiah round trip, including tickets. Two paddlers will take you to the cemetery, a quick and non-scary 15-minute ride. The more people, the cheaper the cost per person; we bargained it down to 650k for four of us, and everyone got a life jacket.
Upon arrival at the cemetery, you\'ll need to register by writing your name in a notebook. You can then visit the famous site where real skulls are stacked on a hill under a huge tree, with many people leaving coins.
It is a quiet and atmospheric place, making it a truly unique cemetery.
Then it\'s back to the boat, and you\'ll return to the village in 15 minutes. As you can see, the road trip takes most of the time; everything else is quite fast.
