Receiving samples from VooPoo is always a pleasure, starting with the packaging! Voopoo Argus MT & Argus XT; Introduction:

VooPoo sent me two new devices well in advance of their presentation date, they are MT and XT which represent the next generation of the long line of Argus devices produced so far.

Argus MT is powered by a built-in 3000mAh cell , while Argus XT is compatible with a single 21700 or 18650 battery . The GENE.TT 2.0 chip allows both to reach a maximum power of 100W with a very stable output in the four different delivery modes available (Smart, RBA , Turbo and TC ). MT and XT boast an IP68 rating that is capable of withstanding dust, shock and fresh water immersion for up to 30 minutes. The charging socket for both is 5V / 3A high speed Type-C.

It seems very evident to me that Argus MT & Argus XT with their refined appearance and their qualities of extreme robustness are the worthy descendants of the mighty Argus GT 2. Among all of them there are many shared technical aspects and all versions use the new Maat Tank with exclusive anti-condensation and anti-leakage "Volcano Crater" design.

Voopoo Argus MT & Argus XT; Screen, QS and control keys:

On the front of Argus XT, above the screen, we find a valuable three-way quick switching system (QS), the lever activates QS is robust and entirely made of metal. By placing the lever in the center, you get the lock / unlock of the adjustments and you can vape. With the lever positioned to the right, you lock the settings and you can vape without the danger of changing the settings by inadvertently touching the buttons. Finally with the lever positioned on the left, you get the total block of the device. On Argus MT the QS switching system is positioned below the screen and works in the same way as Argus GT 2, in fact the QS has only two ways, you can then lock the mod completely or unlock it for adjustments.

Between MT and XT there is another small difference and it is the arrangement of the adjustment keys "+ and -", both Mods adopt a rocker under the screen, but on MT the rocker is horizontal and on XT it is vertical. One of the features of making a device compatible with the IP68 format is to coat the charging port and in fact VooPoo used a metal door to protect its fast 3A USB. This solution with an opening metal door is really solid and very beautiful, even if it is slightly wobbly, sometimes touching it with your fingers generates noise.

On the front, the differences between MT and XT are over, so the power button (Fire) is the same for both models. The Fire key sits high above the screen and is made of metal with a round shaped central notch that is very ergonomic and welcoming to the fingertips. The Fire key is robust and precise, without imperfections. Even the screen unites MT and XT and it is a colored unit, centrally arranged and which shows all the useful information for vaper's.

VooPoo sent me Argus MT in Pearl White and Argus XT in Silver Gray for this test. Both colors are very beautiful and special. On XT there is a rather varied chromatic mix; the silver of the frame and the shiny chrome part of the grille match well with the soft antique green leather insert that has shades of gray. The coloring of MT is less complex, in fact it is completely white, but no less interesting. On MT the metal parts are shiny and satin, while the soft decorative insert of the handle is slightly more opaque. The shapes of MT and XT offer excellent grip thanks to the upper / lower edges that are protruding and create a recess in the center, in the handle area, for an optimal ergonomic result and for a comfortable grip.

The 510 plate of Argus MT and XT has a hexagonal design that is well connected to the frame by shrinking upwards, this to accommodate the Maat Tank in the best possible way and without leaving empty spaces around. The floating type pin is gold plated and the thread is smooth and smooth when screwing / unscrewing the tank. The promotional slogan of VooPoo "Solid As Argus" leaves free interpretation, but in my opinion it sums up well the IP68 characteristics of MT and XT to meet the real needs of cloud hunters who want to live outdoors, in all environments and in the most extreme conditions of use and without fear of damaging their devices. Argus MT & Argus XT designers focused on developing a strong IP68 structure, selecting a high strength double layer metal shell. After thousands of tests on the entire project, the structure would have achieved its intended purpose which was to create Argus devices that are durable and resistant like volcanoes.

The upgraded GENE TT 2.0 chipset, ensures stable output up to the maximum power of 100W and supports Smart, RBA , TURBO and TC modes . Smart mode we all know how useful it can be in case of distractions. The RBA mode supports the user in customizing the preferred power between 5 and 100w even with regenerable tanks . The triple memory mode for TC can record the previously set values. The new TURBO function is the mode that can maximize the release of vapor by the TPP-Coils with the greatest possible aroma load, certainly the latter represents the choice of vape more in line with the habits of the users who use.pollonary tanks .

These new devices are equipped with a 3A type C fast charging interface which is hidden and protected from various infiltrations by a metal flap. With the Type-C fast charging function, Argus XT and Argus MT increase the speed by at least 30% while maintaining a safe and stable current in the device. Personally with XT I recharge the batteries with an external charger, but for MT I find this charging protocol very useful. In addition, the real-time BMS protection is active on the MT 3,000mAh internal battery. New Maat Tank is able to maximize the air flow, with the best possible channeling towards the Coil .
