What is the difference between warehouse and logistics?

Warehousing and logistics are two different functions associated with the supply chain management of a company. Both are important components in the process of getting a product or service from the supplier to the customer.

A warehouse is a building or a space where goods are stored until they are ready to be sold or shipped. Warehouses are typically managed by warehouse staff who are responsible for receiving, moving, and storing the goods. This includes receiving the goods from the supplier, storing them in an organized manner, and preparing them for shipment. The warehouse staff also makes sure that the goods are secure and in good condition until they are ready to be shipped. 

Moving on to logistics, it’s an integral part of any business, as it is responsible for the efficient flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption. It involves the coordination of all aspects of the supply chain, including inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and customer service. Logistics plays an important role in the success of a business, as it helps to ensure that goods are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. In today's competitive market to be one of the best logistics company in India, they must be able to effectively manage their logistics operations in order to remain at par with the competitors. 

The main difference between logistics and warehousing is that logistics is the process of planning, executing, and controlling the efficient and effective flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption. On the other hand, warehousing is a subset of logistics that involves the physical storage and movement of goods. Warehousing is more of a physical process, whereas logistics is a strategic process.

Although warehousing and logistics services are two different sets of areas, they sure can’t be set aside. By having both parties on each end, there’s a definite assurance of storing and delivering the products without making the client feel wretched.
