On December 20, 2005, the Food and Drug Administration approved sorafenib for the treatment of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma.
On November 19, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration approved sorafenib for the treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
On November 22, 2013, the Food and Drug Administration approved sorafenib in order to treat patients with metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer.
