What is Prostate Surgery?
Prostate laser surgery primarily treats BPH without making any cuts outside of your body. Instead, your doctor will insert a fiber-optic scope through your urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body) and use various tools to treat enlarged areas of the prostate cancer surgery using laser energy. The medical term for this procedure is “transurethral laser ablation of the prostate,” but it is often called a TULIP for short. The physician can either destroy part or all of the prostate tissue by vaporizing it, burning it, or cutting it away with the laser energy.

Side effects Prostate Surgery
Most men who have prostate surgery with no complications are able to leave hospital after two or three days. When you leave hospital, you will probably still have a urinary catheter, but you should be given instructions on how to care for it. You should also be given instructions on how to start urinating normally again. Most men hold urine in their bladder, then push it out through the urethra (their water pipe). But after surgery, they cannot do this because their urethra has been cut or damaged during surgery. Your doctor will teach you a different technique for passing urine so that you do not need to push at all. This makes urination much easier and less painful.

Just as doctors do with other types of cancer, they use the results of physical exams, biopsies, and imaging tests to gather information about a tumor's size, location, and whether it's spread to other parts of the body.
