After the hit of the severe Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, the New Zealand Government has announced the launch of the Recovery Visa. It is a sub-type of the specific purpose visa for migrant workers. It is a short-term visa that will permit the employers in the country to sponsor migrants to come and work for emergency purposes.
To get approval for this visa, employers must confirm that the role supports relief efforts, and applicants must submit a recovery visa. The minimum fee of NZD 700 is associated with the application. After everything goes smoothly, applicants will get a refund of this amount.
