SOFT PURPLE
Color-blocking is a terrific option if you want to experiment with color but avoid painting a whole room a strange hue. Here, Heidi Caillier added some romance to the rustic farmhouse bathroom by painting the area below the chair line a gentle purple.
DARK GREY
When space is at a premium in a powder room, an angled mirror above a corner sink is an intelligent design choice (mainly because debris can be hidden away in the skirt). The circular accent table and set of Wedgwood plates soften and add character to the otherwise boxy furniture. The walls are soft, relaxing gray for a touch of polish and mystery.
GREEN AS A FOREST
This lavatory has a sleek cylindrical sink and a single pendant light for just the right amount of illumination. There's no place for frills; even the necessities can only take up a little area, but you can still make a statement with color. The shade of forest green that Fiona Lynch Studio used is fantastic.
VINOUS RED
Firehouse Hotel's new bathroom, designed by ETC.etera, strikes the ideal blend between swanky and playful. The marigold zellige tiles highlight the red wine-colored cabinets, the room's primary design feature. They make for a cozy color palette when used together.
WHITE AS COLD
We know we said we wouldn't use white, but this example shows that it might be the most practical option in a tiny bathroom. Traditionalist Alexander M. Reid painted the walls of this bathroom a pristine white and added classic touches of blue. The white walls and bright white floor tiles highlight the gallery's artwork.
PALE GREEN
This bathroom, designed by Madcap Cottage, is bright and cheery thanks to the flowery skirted sink vanity and the painted green walls that go with it. The skirt is made of flowery fabric, and the wallpaper and paint are green, although in different tones.
ROYAL PINK
The bathroom room's unique artwork stands out well against the soft pink walls. Since a tiny bathroom has so little wall space, a bold paint colour can serve as a bold decorative statement. The conventional portrait gallery is brightened up and made more playful by the pink background in this bathroom.
A SHADOWY EGGPLANT
A deep, almost black eggplant purple immediately elevates whether it's utilized in a bohemian setting or a more conventional one. Bathroom decor in pristine white and golden frames gives off a Victorian feel.
WHITE WITH CHALK TONES
Use a specialty finish when working with a neutral color scheme but still want some textural variety. A chalky, very matte, or highly glossy finish will do. Interior designer Tamsin Johnson chose a clay-like oatmeal color for this bathroom because it goes well with the contemporary glass and concrete accessories and the earthy tones of the cloth skirt.
GRAY WITH STEEL Blue
The designer Nina Farmer used a magnificent Robert Crowder & Co marble-effect wallpaper to update the vintage sink. The bathroom room's original wainscoting was painted in a formal grey by Farrow & Ball called Plummet, which goes well with the wallpaper.
