The New Zealand Government has placed a cap on the continuous stay that is included on an Accredited Employer Work Visa for individuals who do not have a clear pathway to permanent residency. Migrants not meeting the minimum educational, wage, and occupational criteria for skilled residency pathways may be required to exit the country.
The maximum duration for AEWV will be extended up to five years. This will apply to new visas, but existing ones can apply for an extension of up to five years in total. Migrants on pathways to skilled residence will be able to get AEWV further.
