One of the best policies of practically all US airlines is the 24-hour change and cancellation policy. American Airlines offers a similar 24-hour flight change policy to its clients so that they can choose quickly and easily if their plans change. The following situations are however covered by the policy:

 

Regardless of the fare category, American Airlines offers its passengers free, limited itinerary modifications within 24 hours of booking.Basic Economy tickets won't be refundable or changeable after the initial 24-hour risk-free period.You can modify your itinerary even after 24 hours, unless you do it on the day of departure, as American Airlines no longer charges a change fee for any fare type, with the exception of Basic Economy.
