Madhya Pradesh has a rich heritage, and Khajuraho is an excellent example of that. The bygone era comes alive in the art at the Khajuraho temples and museums. You can find hotels in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh easily, and check out these places to witness the magnificence:

Lakshmana Temple

Among the oldest temples here, this east-facing temple is a part of the Western Group of Temples in Khajuraho. Believed to be the earliest built temple by the Chandella rulers, court scenes and royal processions have been sculpted at the temple's base. The work is sequenced in a clockwise direction (pradakshina). Various scenes like musicians playing their instruments, a hunting scene, and a child dancing in front of the king compose the art of the temple. The main body of the temple also has erotic sculptures. It also shows Lord Agni in the top panel and Lord Shiva embracing his wife Parvati in the lower panel.

Kandariya Mahadev Temple

This temple shares its high platform with the Mahadev shrine and Devi Jagdambi temple. The sculptures' depiction is clockwise. The moldings on the temple's base show the court life, Lord Ganesh, and Sapta Matrikas. The walls essentially have deities, mainly Lord Shiva as a bridegroom. Like the other temples at Khajuraho, this one also has erotic panels across the southern and the northern parts of the temple. The carvings and sculptures across the temple range from everyday life activity scenes to mythical creatures fighting evil. Staying at the best resort in Khajuraho will make this trip even better. The LaLiT Temple View Khajuraho overlooks the Western Group of temples and is near the airport. It offers immense hospitality, excellent service, experience tours, and delectable food.

Duladeo Temple

Also known as the Kunwar Math, this temple is a part of the Southern Group of temples and has lively and beautiful moldings and sculptures. The walls have exquisite Shiva and Parvati sculptures and nymphs (apsaras) dancing. The top level of the temple has garland bearers and musicians, with Shiva and other deities in the lower levels. All the parts of the temple structure together take the shape of a star and make this a spectacular piece of the city's rich cultural history.
