Sierra Canine offers expert California service dog training, helping individuals with disabilities gain independence and confidence. With over 28 years of professional experience, founder Dennis Gulla ensures each dog is trained to meet ADA standards. Whether for mobility assistance, PTSD support, or daily task performance, Sierra Canine customizes programs to meet specific needs. Trusted across the state, Sierra Canine delivers dependable, compassionate, and legally compliant service dog training solutions.

Sierra Canine's Board and Train programs are designed for dogs exhibiting nuisance behaviors such as pulling, jumping, excessive barking, or over-excitement. The 4-week program focuses on building a relationship with the dog, teaching foundational obedience, and introducing off-leash control techniques. For dogs with more severe behavioral issues like aggression or extreme fear, extended programs of 6 to 12 weeks are recommended.

Sierra Canine offers comprehensive obedience training that covers essential commands such as sit, stay, heel, and recall. The focus is on creating a strong bond between the dog and owner, ensuring that the dog responds reliably to commands in various situations. This training is beneficial for dogs of all ages and breeds, promoting better communication and a harmonious relationship.

Recognizing the vital role service dogs play in assisting individuals with disabilities, Sierra Canine provides specialized training to prepare dogs for service roles. The training encompasses tasks such as mobility assistance, retrieving items, and providing emotional support. The goal is to ensure that the service dog meets the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Amendments Act (FHAA), allowing individuals to live and travel with their service dogs without discrimination.

Sierra Canine proudly serves Butte County and its surrounding communities, including Biggs, Butte City, Capay, Chico, Cherokee, Corning, Durham, Gridley, Hamilton City, Live Oak, Orland, Oroville, Palermo, Paradise, Red Bluff, Redding, and Tehama.
