The Introduction to the Vedic Rituals Course aims to help individuals learn and understand the importance of rituals in Hinduism, and how these practices can help one attain higher knowledge. The course teaches individuals how to perform simple rituals with the right attitude and understanding and how to incorporate the value of these rituals into their everyday lives.

Sanatana Dharma, or Hinduism, is a way of life that requires spiritual practice, called Sadhana or Abhyasa. Rituals are an essential part of this practice and are believed to be the place where the mind is cleaned, calmed, and made ready for Para Vidya, or higher knowledge. To fully understand the power of ritual, individuals must have an open mind and put their doubts about the ritual aside. They must also bring Bhavana, or emotional involvement, to their practice to fully immerse themselves in the ritual space.

In this course, the faculty will teach students the most important Sandhya Vandana for both men and women, as well as some Vedic mantras, stotras, and Ashtottaras, basic puja, and a simple way to do Homa. The teachers will encourage students to take part in the practice and use measurable metrics to help them judge their spiritual growth.

The course learning objectives are for graduates to be able to make rituals a regular part of their lives, perform the daily Sandhyavandana, perform the daily puja to their Ishta Devata, sing hymns from the Vedas, stotras, and Ashtottaras, perform a simple havan at home, and know how to use the different tools used in religious ceremonies.

The class structure includes at least one hour spent with the faculty each week, where self-study and reflection can lead to discussion and debate. Each week's class discussion will be open-ended and can go on for up to 30 minutes. During the course, students will have to turn in either a short essay or a video of themselves practicing. These assignments should be based on what the student has learned and understood so far.

By the end of the course, students will come to realize the importance of Dharma in their lives and how rituals can help them attain higher knowledge. They will have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform daily rituals, sing hymns, and perform basic puja and havan at home.
