KIA's Yang Hyun-jong becomes the all-time wins leader in baseball.
“Big Pitcher” Yang Hyun-jong (35-KIA) has become the player with the most starts in the history of the 섯다 Korean Baseball Organization.
Fifth-ranked KIA defeated home team SSG 10-2 in a one-day visit to Munhak to extend its winning streak to six games.
In the game, KIA starter Yang Hyun-jong pitched seven scoreless innings to record his seventh win of the season and 164th career start.
This makes Yang Hyun-jong the sole leader in this category, surpassing Song Jin-woo “Songgol Falcon” Song (57), who was tied for first place with 163 wins the day before.
Including saves, Song remains the winningest pitcher in baseball with 210 career wins.
Yang Hyun-jong is second with 166 career wins, including two saves.
NC's Hyung-Jun Kim hit two home runs and a double.
NC, which trails KIA by one game, also swept Samsung 10-0 in Daegu on the same day to stay in fourth place.
Third-place SSG and fourth-place NC, 온라인섯다 which also lost to KIA, are separated by 2.5 games.
For NC, No. 8 hitter Kim Hyung-jun (24) had his second two-homer game in eight days to help his team to victory.
Kim had previously recorded a two-homer game for the first time in his professional career on March 24 against Incheon.
NC starter Tanner (29), who made his Korean debut on March 15, pitched six scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season.
The Samsung bats managed just two hits on the day.
Kiwoom's Byung-wook Lim hits a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning.
In the other two games in Seoul, Anbang teams won side by side.
Leader LG swept ninth-place Hanwha 10-0 in Jamsil, while last-place (10th) Kiwoom defeated second-place KT 6-2 in Gochuk.
LG extended its lead at the top of the standings to 5.5 games over KT.
Hanwha, on the other hand, lost its eighth straight game and dropped to the bottom of the table for the first time in 72 days since June 21.
Kiwoom, which dropped to the bottom of the table on June 10, made it to the top in 22 days.
