Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has left open the possibility of extending his contract.

According to the Guardian, Guardiola told a news conference during his pre-season tour of the U.S. that if he leaves, he will leave. We haven\'t talked about it yet. We have to see what happens. I will not rule out an extension of the contract for sure. I like being in Manchester City, so I want to stay."

Guardiola\'s contract with Manchester City is due next summer. As former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, who arrived in the English Premier League (PL) about a year before Guardiola, put down the baton, speculation was raised that Guardiola would also leave a year later. Guardiola also hinted that his separation from Manchester City was closer. In an interview in May, he said, "It\'s more like leaving than staying."

Asked about his comment two months ago, Guardiola explained, "I spent eight years at Manchester City. I will not be here for another eight years, so I am looking closer to him leaving. I did not say that I would leave immediately."

"It feels like a long time to spend nine years at a club in this day and age," he said, adding, "I want to be sure that it\'s the right decision for me to stay not only on a personal level but also for the club and the players."  메이저놀이터

Whether Guardiola, who literally dominated the PL during his tenure, will stay or not is a topic that is drawing keen attention not only from Manchester City but also from other 19 PL clubs and fans. Since taking the helm of Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has topped the league in six of the eight seasons. He also won the Carabao Cup in England four times and the FA Cup twice. In the 2022-2023 season, he won the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in Manchester City, achieving the feat of treble (triple crown) at a European tournament.
