Review of Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

The strength of Bad Boy\'s movie lies in its over-the-top action, but unfortunately, it falls short in this aspect. The film\'s constant stream of celebrity appearances and random jokes come together in unimpressive set pieces. The excessive use of shaky cam and subpar computer effects dilute even the most outrageous action scenes due to the abundance of gimmicks. Smith\'s portrayal of Mike feels more like a PR stunt, focusing on displaying his relatable and charming personality. The film reaches its peak when Smith endures not just one, but four consecutive slaps. Bad Boys: Ride or Die on Soap2 Day begins with the classic moment of the duo\'s foul-mouthed bickering and comedic banter, showcasing the familiar buddy-cop chemistry between Will Smith\'s Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence\'s Marcus Burnett, as always.
