Websites like WriteUp Café feel a little nostalgic to me. They seem so 1990s when the internet was not as mainstream and professional as it appears to be now.
As a web developer, I like to control my content and how it is rendered. I like to verify and optimize user experience, page loading time, accessibility and ecological sustainability. Also, I like to avoid uncontrollable third-party advertising. So why would I waste time and energy to publish anything on a page like this? The answer is simple and still relevant: networking, marketing, becoming more visible to people that might want to contact me.
I have been publishing about various web development as well as cultural and environmental issues on various websites, including The Practical DEV and Open Mind Culture. But the most up to date information about me as a web developer, is Ingo-Steinke.de, my professional portfolio page.
Further reading: more posts are linked on my website, and I will possibly cross-post more content to WriteUp Café as well.
