Suit Up: A Journey Through the History of Spacesuits

One of the key features of the xEMU is its enhanced mobility. The suit has a new joint system that allows astronauts to move their arms and legs more freely, making it easier for them to perform tasks on the lunar or Martian surface. The xEMU also has a new communications system that allows astronauts to communicate more easily with each other and with mission control.

In the early 1960s, NASA began to develop a new type of  Spacesuit that would be more mobile and versatile. The result was the Apollo A7L spacesuit, which was used by astronauts on the Moon missions. This suit was much lighter and more comfortable than previous models, and it had a built-in life support system that allowed astronauts to spend longer periods of time in space. The Apollo A7L also had a detachable helmet and a backpack that contained the life support system, making it easier for astronauts to move around.
