Avoid These Mistakes & Build a SEO Friendly Website

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Nibu Lorance, and I am a Freelance Digital marketing service provider located in Kerala, India. After completing my post-graduation in marketing, I chose online marketing as my area of interest and worked with companies that provide services related to online branding and advertising for various categories of clients. First of all, I am discussing issues that are prevalent in my experience, and I am not claiming these are the exact things you should follow for your business, but considering the experience of my clients, this only did them good, and they improved their ranking on SERPs (search engine result pages) and also maintained a firm SEO practice.

1. Not knowing how important it is to do SEO for your website

Nowadays, you can see so many startups and businesses emerging day by day with fresh new possibilities, and these people are so passionate about their business, and most of them have solid plans about their service or product’s sales. Sadly, most of them don't know much about the marketing part, but it is the key thing that puts your sales drive up and keeps it consistent, and the importance of a website for marketing. There is a lot to explore in marketing when you are doing business, but let me come to our point of discussion. In this era of digital and online marketplaces and market exposure, a good online presence is always a must-do, whether it is an E-commerce or a normal website. Like social media platforms, a website also plays a major part in bringing sales into your business. When it comes to E-Commerce businesses, we know that the website is their main sales-driving platform, so when you create a website that is not only your portfolio, it should bring sales to your business. Every business owner nowadays has a vague idea about their target audiences, but that's not enough to convert them into sales. Most people depend on their digital devices to grab more knowledge about their purchasing decisions, and they are doing this with the help of search engines. To make more conversions, your website should appear in the top positions of SERPs. To appear at the top of SERPs, your website should be SEO optimized. It is as simple as that. Optimize your website and drive more sales.

In conclusion, if you are creating a website for your business or service, 100% it should have a firm SEO backing. If you need a free consultation from a Result-Driven Freelance Digital Marketer, feel free to contact me.

2. Not considering SEO in the beginning stage of website development

I have seen many people make this mistake. Primarily, you should know this fact: SEO is not a thing that you consider doing after building a website; it should be part of your website from the start. Not only should these two things be considered when you plan to do an SEO-optimized website, but they should be carefully done from the beginning. There are many things to consider from the start. Here I just pointed out two important things as an example.

Content Optimization

Yes, your content should be optimized according to your business, but when it comes to SEO, your content needs to be optimized for SEO. That means it should contain keywords that can rank up your site, and your content should be written for the target audience. There are some important guidelines and technical aspects you should know about before starting to write content for your website; you need to make sure it is SEO-friendly.

UX (User Experience)

UX, like the name says, is about the users' experience is the ultimate goal, so a better UX will give you better user engagement, and it will lead to better conversions. Users could easily navigate through your site and be able to make decisions easily from site speed, color palette, fonts, etc. There are so many things that affect the user experience of a website.

3. Not having a dedicated team/person for SEO

Previously, I worked in a web design firm. They were good at their major service, which is web designing. while working there, I have seen a habit of clients who came there for web designing services also asking us if we are doing SEO services; they also need that. Yes, some clients do not need regular SEO checking updates, for example, people who are doing portfolio sites or clients who do not depend most of their sales on website traffic. For these kinds of clients, our company will do basic SEO services, and that's enough for them. Yes, we had some dedicated staff only for SEO, but to a limit. but a major issue some clients cannot see is if your website has huge traffic or you are planning to attract a large amount of traffic, or especially if you have an e-commerce site, it is a must that your site needs regular SEO checkups up and updates according to the trends. Only this way you could increase your sales. I have seen so many clients with large amounts of traffic, and e-commerce sites have been asking us to please handle our websites SEO also. Yes, if our company were large enough to handle those clients, we could give them dedicated staff, but that was not the case there, and most of the companies are not like that. An easier and more profitable solution for sites that this big are, They should consider hiring staffs only for SEO support, Espesically for E-Commerce sites or you can hire a experienced freelance Digital marketing service provider who has expertise in SEO.

Conclusion

These are some mistakes that I have seen in my experience with clients; there are a lot more, and according to each client, the mistakes could have been different, but in this era of Web 3.0, AI, and voice searches, try to avoid the above-mentioned mistakes.
