What are Hastelloy C276 Forged Bars?

Hastelloy C276 Forged Bars are produced by heat treating an already hot-worked bar between 2000°F and 2200°F for up to three hours. This results in a stronger, more fracture-resistant product with superior fatigue properties than those in hot-worked bars alone. The high chromium content also makes them highly resistant to oxidation and pitting, while their molybdenum content gives them additional resistance to stress cracking and corrosion cracking. Adding nickel provides excellent resistance to sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, making them perfect for use in chemical process industries where these acids are commonly used.

Uses of Hastelloy C276 Forged Bars

Given their superior corrosion resistance and strength properties, it’s no surprise that these forged bars are popular for use in various industries such as oil & gas, aerospace & defense, power generation, medical & healthcare, food processing & beverage production, marine engineering & automotive engineering. Their superior strength also makes them ideal for use as structural components or fasteners in construction projects or other heavy-duty applications where regular steel could not withstand the stress or extreme conditions it could be subjected to. Additionally, due to their exceptional wear resistance properties, Hastelloy C276 Forged Bar can be used in machines requiring parts that will last longer than regular steel parts without frequent replacements or maintenance.
