The Visa Pak of Immigration, New Zealand, has issued a clarification on the rules related to sleepover clauses in employment contracts. It will clarify the impact of processing of both essential skills and skilled migrant category visas. Some agreements in employment in the Aged and Residential Care Industry require a sleepover clause, where applicants are paid less than the standard amount for hours.
The deduction is done based on the hours they had slept during the working shift. Applicants can easily re-submit the contract without adding any sleepover clause. The employer can also re-confirm the amount that the applicant must be paid during the sleepover hours.
