What is breast cancer?
Uncontrolled proliferation of aberrant breast cells is breast cancer. One of many different cancers, breast cancer is the second most prevalent cancer in women in the US, after skin cancer. Men can be diagnosed with breast cancer, despite the fact that women are significantly more likely than men to do so.
How Does Breast Cancer Happen?
There are many billions of cells in our bodies. As the body requires more cells, healthy cells expand and divide to create new cells. When cells become damaged or old, they expire. The genes that regulate cell growth can become abnormally altered in malignant cells, which can lead to uncontrolled cell division. The harmed or outdated cells don't die as they ought to. Another term for cancerous cells is malignant. Tumors are collections of these cells that can occasionally occur.
In some cases, cancer cells stay confined to the breast (sometimes called “local to the breast”). Over time, it’s possible for some cancer cells to invade the bloodstream or lymph system and travel to other parts of the body. Cancer spread to another part of the body is called metastasis.
