Who Should Get a PALS Certification?

A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is often a requirement for emergency room nurses and doctors. Emergency Room Doctors and Nurses

Emergency room doctors and nurses are the most obvious roles that need to complete a PALS class. Both nurses and doctors should be well-versed in techniques, skills, and knowledge of how to provide care for infants and children. They need to manage scenarios involving critically ill infants and children, and patient outcomes may hinge on their abilities. In addition, improving communication skills can only help when working in a fast-paced environment.

Pediatricians

A slightly less obvious profession is pediatricians. Generally, they don’t have to work with children or infants during emergencies, but they still have higher chances of needing the skills covered by a PALS course than other healthcare roles.
