iOS 16, macOS Ventura, iPad OS 16, WatchOS 4, and other future Apple operating systems were shown off at WWDC 2022.

For those of you who couldn't make it to Apple's press event, we've compiled a list of the company's most noteworthy announcements.

iOS 16

In iOS 16, Apple introduced a new lock screen interface that is fully editable. Customization options include changing the font and background color of the time and date as well as adding widgets for the weather, activity rings, and upcoming calendar events. Live Activities, new in iOS 16, allow users to pin and control alerts such as food delivery status right from the lock screen. The bottom of the lock screen will now be where notifications appear unless the user chooses to hide them.

macOS 13 Ventura

With the release of macOS 13 Ventura, users can look forward to a revamped Stage Manager. Once Stage Manager is installed on a Mac, all open applications and windows will be consolidated into a single interface. Because of this, you may move between projects without losing your train of thought.

iPadOS 16

iPadOS 16, the newest version of Apple's iPad operating system, has been released. Some of the new features are the same as in iOS 16 and macOS, such as the overhauled Home app and Passkeys compatibility in Safari, but they also have their own improvements. Later this year, there will be new ways to work together on a whiteboard and a weather app.

WatchOS 9

The newest version of Apple's wristwatch operating system, watchOS 9, was just unveiled. The new watch will have updated fitness tracking for runners and medication reminders.

These are the highlights from Apple's WWDC 2022 event; for more information on each operating system new features, see the WWDC 2022 blog article.
