Fearless- The Record-breaking LE SSERAFIM Album

Next up for review is the debut mini-album by LE SSERAFIM. The newest female group from HYBE Entertainment and Source Music, LE SSERAFIM, made its debut in May with the single and mini-album FEARLESS. There are five tracks on it in total, including the title track, which was already mentioned. Six people made up the original FEARLESS lineup. However, Kim Ga Ram left the group a few months ago as a result of her bullying allegations that surfaced when the group was publicizing its debut. She was swiftly dropped, and the group temporarily reorganized as a five-person team before changing its formation permanently in July.

For obvious reasons, LE SSERAFIM's debut isn't always the best beginning to the group's career, but FEARLESS (the title single) was a big hit. Many individuals were interested in it. According to what fans saw, it also became a hit, and maybe this will be the group's debut song from this era that people remember them for rather than something else. The mini-album was decent overall. Even though I didn't love the entire mini-album, there were at least a few solid tracks. Let’s read the reviews of LE SSERAFIM albums below.

1.   The World is My Oyster

The World Is My Oyster, the opening tune of their debut mini-album and overall debut, serves as both. This song's instrumental is a psychedelic trance, which is just of the right style. Such songs have an enormous vibe bubbling under the surface, which is why I appreciate the genre.

Additionally, I like how suspenseful it is. It is appropriate for a group whose name is an anagram of I'M FEARLESS and who launches their career with the title tune titled Fearless that The World Is My Oyster shows each of the members speaking in their different languages and introducing themselves as fearless. There isn't much else to the music, but it still is amazing.

2.  Fearless (Title Track)

FEARLESS opts for a low-key, funky pop sound. For a debut tune, it takes an intriguing turn that actually pays off. The fact that Fearless is anything but restrained makes it one of the most unusual debut songs I can recall. The song stands out from the competition of other recently released songs and trending tunes since it is bold and unique in its own right.

I really liked the group's opening vocals, which were almost hush-hush whisper-like and paired with the described muted funky pop instrumental. It creates a sophisticated ambiance that supports the lyrics' message of confidence.

3.   Blue Flame

Blue Flame is the secondary promotional music for LE SSERAFIM's debut. It's a cool song that takes a disco direction. The group's vocals are quite well done, and they show great potential. However, Blue Flame was really basic and plain.

Even though KPOP has been dominated by a retro sound for some time now, I feel a little let down by the song's lack of excitement or intensity. Maybe I would have appreciated Blue Flame more if it had a little more zest or vibrancy. But it lacks any distinctive contribution to the group and is simply too predictable.

4.   The Great Mermaid

Blue Flame and "The Great Mermaid,", in my opinion, are diametrically opposed. The bass that was used in the song gave The Great Mermaid's orchestration a lot of oomph. The vibe is unforgettable and thrilling. The use of synths and bass created an instrumental with a rich texture.

Somewhere it seems like it is autotuned, but the vocals were well-rounded and appropriate for "The Great Mermaid." The chorus, "Na Na Na," was so catchy, and the lyrics' interpretation of The Little Mermaid story was incredibly original.

5.   Sour Grapes

Sour Grapes, the last song on this mini-album, is significantly gentler than any of the LE SSERAFIM albums. It draws from the R&B genre and once again has attractive vocals. The members' wavy melodies are enjoyable. It lends Sour Grapes a cozy and idyllic atmosphere. I did wish the song had a little more. The album's closing tune, "Sour Grapes," soothes us away from the uproar that the title track and the other songs' upbeat backings produced.

Conclusion

The LE SSERAFIM albums, including this mini-album, have never disappointed fans in any way. If you are new to K-pop or have not listened to these tracks, you should definitely listen to them.
