Triumph Over Adversity
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TORONTO, ON — May 23, 2025 – In a powerful convergence of purpose and passion, Dr. Patti Bevilacqua is set to take the stage at the prestigious Speaker Slam® in Toronto on May 27, just days before World MS Day. Once a high school PE teacher, Patti’s world shifted when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at just 22. Now, she stands as a beacon of resilience, a TEDx speaker, a bestselling author, and disability awareness advocate.
Speaker Slam®, North America’s largest inspirational speaking competition, will feature ten bold voices under the theme: The Power of No. For Patti, “no” was once the word that ended her dream teaching career, but it’s now the word that opened the door to a new mission of advocacy, education, and empowerment.
“MS didn’t end my story. It rewrote it,” says Patti. “And I’m here to show others how powerful that rewrite can be.”
Her story, grounded in personal upheaval and transformative strength, highlights the often-invisible struggles of chronic illness and the fierce courage it takes to face them publicly.
Join us on May 27 at Lula Lounge to witness a voice that refuses to be silenced.
