ASME SA213 TP304 seamless tubes are made using a meticulous procedure that prioritizes endurance, accuracy, and quality. Solid billets of stainless steel are first heated gradually until they are pliable enough to shape. After that, the middle of these heated billets is punctured to form a hollow shell that eventually turns into the tube. To get the required thickness and size, the hollow shell is then subjected to rolling and drawing procedures. While cold drawing gives the tube a nice surface and precise dimensions, hot rolling offers it strength and a consistent structure. The tubes are heat-treated (annealed) after shaping to reduce internal tension and facilitate bending and handling.
Following the heat treatment, the tubes undergo pickling, passivation, and cleaning to get rid of any contaminants and improve their resistance to corrosion. After that, each tube is put through rigorous quality inspections, including eddy current and hydrostatic testing, to make sure it satisfies ASME requirements. The end result is a high-performance seamless tube with outstanding strength, resilience, and corrosion resistance, which makes it ideal for use in pressure systems, heat exchangers, and boilers in harsh industrial settings.
