Pimples start when the pores of your skin get clogged with oil and dead skin. Every pore of the skin is connected to a gland. The name of this gland is Sebaceous. This gland produces an oil which we call Sebum.
Excess sebum released from the gland fills the pore. Due to which a bacteria named Propionibacterium Acnes or P. Acnes is produced. When the body's white blood cells attack the P. acnes bacteria, we get itching, burning, and pimples.
Common symptoms of acne include many infections including whiteheads, blackheads. Acne can also be caused by many other factors, including genetics, diet, stress, hormonal changes, and infections. But acne leaves a scar only when the pimple is rubbed or touched.
Main Causes of Acne
There can be four main reasons for acne breakout.
1. Over production of oil
2. When the hair roots get clogged with oil and dead skin cells
3. Caused by bacteria
4. When the hormone named androgen is more active than necessary
The maximum effect of acne / pimples caused by these four reasons is seen on your face, forehead, chest, upper part of the waist and shoulders. The reason for this is that most of the sebum producing glands are present in the skin of these places.
