Rabdentse Ruins

In the western part of Sikkim lie the ruins of a once-majestic city. Rabdentse was the second capital of Sikkim until the 19th century. The carefully preserved site offers stunning views of the mountains and valleys of West Sikkim. The Rabdentse ruins are situated on a ridge overlooking a densely forested valley. The site is divided into two sections by stone walls. In the northern section, you find the remains of the royal residence and an open courtyard with three chortens or Buddhist shrines. This section also features a 7-foot-long white marble slab where the locals still offer prayers. The southern section, on the other hand, comprises a throne and a religious complex where commoners used to pray and seek an audience with the king.

Banjhakri Falls

Banjhakri Falls are naturally sourced from freshwater springs higher up in the mountains. The cascade is approximately 30 m high. Banjhakri Falls is an ideal place to click wonderful photographs that you can cherish forever. 

Ranka Monastery

Also known as Lingdum Monastery, this is a regal monastery spread over an expansive area and follows the Zurmang Kagyud lineage of Buddhism. It is one of the most pictorial monasteries in East Sikkim due to the beautifully forested mountains on its borders.
