The beck and call of Dracula is a demanding job that you meet his expectations, and as the demand are met, the blood of cheerleaders and nuns are pushed on and for a while, Hoult’s vampire henchman Renfield asks if this is still his role.

The main issue is that our world has become, as Renfield puts it, “a dangerous place.” However, with the introduction in the form of Rebecca Quincy, a traffic police officer that is played by Awkwafina, Renfield finally begins to feel appreciated and loved. “Did I notice that you cut someone with a pretty serving tray?”

It’s a relationship that causes him to question his role as the vampire’s “Postmates,” in the Chris McKay directed film which promises an opportunity to start afresh and possibly a chance at the redemption of one horror’s most famous villains.

Renfield is a Promising Talented and Creative Team

McKay has a stellar resume which includes credits as a director on The Tomorrow War and The Lego Batman Movie. He’s with the former Rick and Morty and Community writer Ryan Ridley who penned the script for the movie. The concept of Renfield however, was conceived by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman who serves as producer and said that there would there will be some violence. With the talented team in the same room, it inspires faith in Renfield in his ability to bring an eclectic mix of horror, comedy and action that rivals the quality in Taika Waititi‘s What We Do in the Shadows.

In addition to the star-studded trio consisting of Hoult, Cage, and Awkwafina, Renfield will also have Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Bess Rouss along with James Moses Black among its cast. While Hoult is the main actor, Cage has been shaping as the main draw from the beginning. Because of his passion for the mythology of Dracula and his close study of some of the greatest performances of the vampire the comedic but terrifying take is set to be the star of the show once the movie is released.
